All the latest deals and news from Thailand's major TEFL course providers



SEE TEFL Chiang Mai

SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai have been passing some milestones of late. They have now received over 10,000 views of their YouTube video, which shows a range of teachers going through their observed teaching practice in local Thai schools. They've also had over 4,000 Facebook 'likes' (I wish ajarn.com's Facebook page could get that many) Over the past six years, SEE TEFL has trained 539 teachers and you can see every one of them - yes every single one - in the SEE TEFL Flickr photo albums. SEE TEFL have now signed contracts with 13 Chiang Mai kindergartens, schools and vocational colleges to recruit and manage their foreign teachers for the coming academic year. Teachers will be employed (non-imm B visa + work permit) by SEE TEFL and sub-contracted to the school. Salary is around 25K THB per month. This means that there are 40 full-time jobs that need filling. 23 teachers have so far signed up but still another 17 needed -  and SEE graduates always get first priority


Island TEFL

Island TEFL on Koh Samui and Phuket is offering Ajarn readers the opportunity to enroll on any of its internationally accredited 120-hour courses at Koh Samui, Phuket or Bangkok for just $595 U.S. (17,900 Baht). Global TESOL

What's happening at Global TESOL? Well, they offer the standard 120-hour courses but also offer an interesting range of specialized courses including 'Teaching Tourism English', 'Teaching Business English' and 'Teaching Children English'. They also offer in-class, online or correspondence options for you to obtain your TESOL certificate. In-class students can take advantage of free accommodation, the opportunity to buddy up with a teacher for one day to see what it's really like as a qualified ESL teacher. And as a special offer for May, Global TESOL will provide a free specialization online course with their 5-day foundation course. TEFLPlus Phuket

Chiang Mai University TEFL

When completing the course with CMUTEFL, you will automatically be added to the Priority Club with Chiang Mai University. This means, as a graduate of the program you will be prioritised for any new jobs being offered at Chiang Mai University. in addition to any new positions which CMUTEFL is required to recruit for; and with over 50 applications each week being submitted to Chiang Mai University Language Institute, the Priority Club is your ticket to jumping ahead of this queue. CMUTEFL is still accepting applications for the 3rd June program. UniTEFL Chiang Mai

UniTEFL's next 120-hour course begins on the 27th May and they have just five spaces left at the Chiang Mai facility. Enroll now and you will receive free accommodation during the course, worth up to $250.00. Rooms will be reserved on a first come first serve basis - but note there is a limited supply. On a UniTEFL course, you'll have live teaching practice at local government schools. UniTEFL is also happy to announce that it has been designated as the Distance Learning Center for the Philippine Women's University online programs in Thailand. American TESOL Institute

For 2013 along with its regular TESOL course and guaranteed job projects, American TESOL Institute has launched a one-week specialized teaching practice course for teachers with qualifications but no teaching experience. The course will include classroom management skills pertaining to Thailand and teaching different lessons across different age groups in actual Thai schools. ATI's second offering in the New Year is a blended hybrid course comprising both online study and in-class training for freshers


AYC

What's happening at AYC, TEFL course provider and one of the largest teacher recruiters in Thailand? Well, they have cut the prices of their 120-hour on-site Bangkok TESOL Course to 799 USD for the regular course and 999 USD with private accommodation (a studio apartment) AYC offers internationally recognized certification from INTESOL USA and NCFE UK and one of the aims of the course is to create a source of qualified and prepared teachers for the AYC English program in Thailand. Green TEFL Chiang Mai

Nava School of English is one of the biggest teacher recuiters in the Chiang Mai area, with over 20 schools on its books. Nava recruits teachers directly from the Green TEFL program and there are already a number of job openings for the new school term in May. Take the Green TEFL course in April and come May, you're almost assured of a teaching job in the Chiang Mai area. Green TEFL offers its students a one-year ED visa, job assistance, practical teaching experience and also free transportation to and from the school. As a special deal, they are offering an early bird discount if you book your TEFL course between March and May.
