My favorite Bangkok eateries

Some tried and tested dining experiences

I have listed some descriptions of my favorite restaurants (both Thai and other) below. Hopefully, you can use the places below as starting points to begin your own foodie adventures in Thailand's urban metropolis.

Motorcycle madness

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

Having heard about far too many motorcycle accidents here and now experiencing one myself, I've decided enough is enough - no more motorbikes!

Cheap and expensive in Bangkok

What's a bargain and what costs an arm and a leg?

My friends and family back home sometimes ask me stupid questions about living in Thailand. However, one question which is interesting is, do you find everything in Thailand cheap?

Why I live here in Bangkok

So what's the attraction exactly?

Bangkok might never be the place I truly call home but it's a place I'm happy to be right now.

My thoughts on teacher salaries

How much should you be making?

While extensive amounts of information is already readily available on the matter of teachers' salaries, I'd still like to add some of my own opinions for those considering coming here to teach.

On living in Bangkok

It's where the work is for a young language teacher

Bangkok is a loud, polluted, overcrowded, and poorly designed city. I've always thought that I would love to live in a different city, but now that I'm sitting down and pondering this, maybe Bangkok is more to me than I had previously realized.

Thailand teaching stuff - June 2015

A selection of blog links that will be of interest to teachers in Thailand

Here are some links to interesting and thought-provoking blogs that have appeared on the internet over the last few months - often posted by teachers working in Thailand. I hope you enjoy reading them.

Missionary position

Finding salvation on Bangkok's MRT

I told the young man I would give God some very serious thought and implored him to keep up the good work. One powerful handshake later and he disappeared into the crowd of commuters to select another victim.

Where is the best Mexican food in Bangkok?

Here are some ideas to satisfy those Mexican food cravings.

Unfortunately, I have not found a Mexican restaurant in Bangkok that compares to the ones back home yet, but I have found a few good places for my Mexican fix.

It all boils down to how you look at things

As much as I love Thailand, I often find myself complaining about living here. I notice that many of my friends do the same thing. Most of the time it is just harmless chit chat, but sometimes I find myself talking to people who really do not seem to like anything about Thailand.
