About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Teacher of Science to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will teach secondary-level students (Grades 7-10), delivering engaging lessons in line with the US curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire curiosity and foster a deeper understanding of the sciences in learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic science lessons across various disciplines (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics) aligned with the US curriculum.
- Encourage scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving among students.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
- Design and facilitate hands-on lab experiments to enhance practical understanding of scientific concepts.
- Incorporate project-based learning into the curriculum to encourage exploration, innovation, and the practical application of scientific concepts.
- Assess student’s progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Teach Advanced Placement (AP) science courses to prepare students for college-level learning.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports collaboration and excellence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional strategies and share best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Strong knowledge of scientific concepts across multiple disciplines (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics) and the ability to teach secondary-level science (Grades 7-10).
- Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) science courses (e.g., AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics) is highly desirable.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience.
- Native English speaker.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
