High School and Primary English Teachers

Job Description:
DSIL is looking for dynamic, flexible, and passionate English Teachers to join our non-profit. We are looking for two Primary English Teachers and one High School English Teacher. Our school, located on the KMUTT Campus, was founded on the education philosophy of Constructionism. Deeply rooted relationships with MIT and Stanford University have afford us learning resources such as The Fab Learn Lab, Compassionate Systems Frameworks, and international opportunities for both students and faculty.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, complete command of the English language (NES or NNES with proof of proficiency), international experience, compassion for children and teens, and an open-minded willingness to try and learn new things. Previous experience in education is helpful but not required, although experience with alternative or progressive education will be a major benefit.

Two foundational pillars of our school are self-directed and lifelong learning; we expect our Education Facilitators to exemplify and uphold these qualities as well. The job requires flexibility, patience, and a passion for mentoring and developing young minds. Project Based Learning is another founding pillar of our school. While we incorporate PBL in every class, Upper School students spend two days per week in their Project House where their sole focus is their independent work. Each student completes a full project with prototype, research report, poster, and academic presentation each term. Project House themes change regularly but often include subjects like Engineering, Art & Music, Health Sciences, Culinary Arts, and Business Innovation. In the Primary School, English is divided into Project English and Core English. Core English is more like a traditional English class focused on reading, writing, listening, and speaking while Project English is an exploration of Science, Art, and History in an immersive English environment.

• Working Hours:
-7:30 – 4:30 during the term, 9:00 – 4:00 during student break.
• Excursions with students every term (1-3 depending on the term).
• Annual Staff Trip.
• Plenty of time for planning, grading, and professional development.
• Student Teacher ratio of 5:1.
• Lunch provided during semester.
