Introduction:

Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University (SBS) is currently looking qualified and experienced for a Literacy Coordinator for Early Years and Primary. SBS is an IB PYP School situated just north of Bangkok.

Position: PYP Literacy Coordinator, AY 2024-25, Term 2
Salary: At least 75,000 baht per month depending on qualifications and experience

Literacy Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities:
Coordinate Literacy across Early Years and Primary and ensure alignment to primary and IB Philosophy

● Assess levels of students and determine the level of support needed
● Provide language support that is in alignment with the PYP
● Coach classroom teachers in creating inquiry based balanced literacy programmes
● Coordinate Reading & Writing assessments (BOY, MOY, EOY)
● Data analysis and graphing
● Report on strengths and needs of programmes and action plan
● Coordinate MAPS assessment
● Teach and develop Literacy Skills
● Provide professional development for teachers

Community Relations:

● Promote reading to learning community
● Share relevant reading materials with staff based on the latest research
● Oversee EAL lessons
● Review report card comments & coach staff on developing comments as needed

Qualifications:

• Candidates must hold the minimum of a bachelor degree or a Master degree in a relevant field or in education,
• PGCE certificate or Bachelor of Education
• Teaching License

Experience:

• Training and experience in the IB PYP Programmes
• Experience of using a ‘play based approach to learning’ and inquiry strategies
• Previous experience in leadership role preferred
