The Newton Sixth Form

School Background: The Newton Sixth Form was opened in 2019 and is located in central Bangkok, a few minutes walk from Siam BTS. The school is open for students in grades 2-7 in the primary section and grades 8-13 in the senior section, focusing primarily on an IGCSE, A-Level, and BTEC curriculum under Pearson. The current teaching team is a mix of international teachers and Thai teachers with native-like accuracy in English.

Details of the positions:

Position 1: Secondary English teacher with some experience delivering IELTS test prep classes for upper secondary.

Position 2: Mathematics teacher for IGCSE and A-Level. Experience teaching the Pearson curriculum is highly beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.

Position 3: Secondary science teachers for IGCSE and A-Level. Experience teaching the Pearson curriculum is highly beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.

Position 4: Secondary Computer science teacher. Knowledge of the following languages would be beneficial: C, Python, SQL, and JavaScript plus CSS and HTML.

Position 5: Primary general science teacher for years 2-7. The ideal candidate will have experience with young learners.

Qualifications and experience:

-Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or above in the relevant field and preferably a teaching qualification such as TEFL, CELTA. IPGCE or above.

-Candidates should have a minimum of one year’s experience delivering in-class teaching of their specialized subject with the relevant age group.

-An understanding of the Pearson IGCSE and IAL programs would be beneficial but not essential.

-Preference will be given to native English speakers, especially those currently residing in Thailand.

Benefits:

-Working hours: 08.30-5.30 Monday-Friday. The occasional Saturday work may be required for open houses or school events.

-Start date ideally August 2024; however, it can be negotiable based on your current circumstances with your current employer and employment status.

-Salary: Starting salary of minimum 50k, based on qualifications and experience.

-Lunch included.

-Private health insurance is provided after passing probation.

-12-month contract renewable.

-Annual Bonus of 1 month's salary

-All visa and work permit costs are fully covered by the school.
