News and promotions from Thailand's TEFL course and training providers

 SEE TEFL Chiang Mai

SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai have been teaching a full-time 120-hour course for seven years and can boast over 600 graduates. They now offer a teacher training and paid internship opportunity twice a year to coincide with the two school semesters in Thailand. The SEE TEFL internship program is a great way to experience Thailand as a paid teacher, but also ideal for those who aren't ready to commit to a 4-week TEFL course program or a teaching committment longer than five months. Internship includes pre-arrival classroom familiarization training, two weeks face-to-face classroom skills and cultural awareness induction training in Chiang Mai. Then a paid one-semester teaching job of four to five months in a rural or provincial Thai school. Interns are paid a minimum of 25,000 baht a month. More information here. If you want to read an article on the topic of the 3 Ps - presentation, practice and production - then there is a great article on the SEE TEFL website.

TEFLPlus Phuket

TEFLPlus is celebrating its 30th year in the training industry with a nice offer on its 120-hour, 4-week advanced TEFL course. The first five trainees to mention they saw this blog entry on ajarn.com and confirm their places on either the November 18th course or the 13th January course in 2014 will receive a 30% discount. So sign up early and you could be earning your TEFL certificate with TEFLPlus for just 29,400 baht. That's about 939 dollars US or 579 GBP. Schools aren't the only places that hire teachers and you can read all about Meghan's life in Phuket in the fourth installment of TEFL Spotlight. She graduated from TEFLPlus in May 2012 and has ended up working at a place you probably wouldn't expect. If you would like to get an insider tour of the TEFLPlus facility, take a look at this video as Li takes you on a guided tour of the training center at Patong Language School.
