Fancy taking your TEFL course in Thailand? We've got all the latest info.

Island TEFL on Koh Samui has gone through a change of management / ownership and Phil Dunne is now at the helm. Phil has a wealth of experience from his days spent teaching in Bangkok and he's looking forward to the challenge. One thing Phil aims to offer to TEFL program participants is job placements at not only schools but also resorts and hotels at three island locations (including Samui of course) It will be interesting to see how things develop. If you've got any questions then send Phil an e-mail

SEE TEFL has created three YouTube videos  'An introduction to SEE TEFL', 'Cultural awareness Day' and 'Teacher Testimonials' You can view the videos on SEE TEFL's YouTube page

International House now has three permanent TEFL trainers. This means that the capacity for course participants has increased to 18 places in Bangkok and 12 in Chiang Mai. You can find all the course dates at each location by visiting the IH website or you can contact Graeme by e-mail.

Text and Talk is now providing several benefits to TEFL course trainees. They are offering a 12-month Thai language course – and a 12-month Non-immigrant Education Visa – free of charge when you enroll. The participant pays only the nominal government visa fee. In addition, they offer guaranteed work placement and sound job advice.

What else? The regular TEFL course now includes a full diploma-level Teaching English to Young Learners Course (TEYL) This is especially useful if you plan on teaching children. Text and Talk also offers flexible schedules so you choose the times you want to study.

Steve, from the popular Chichester College TESOL Course in Bangkok, has written an excellent blog entry entitled, "How much Thai do I need to be able to speak?". This is the question on everyones lips when they first consider teaching English in Thailand and Steve's ever-friendly writing tone makes this piece a pleasure to read.

Starting this February, two more universities, Khon Kaen University and Prince of Songkla University, (Phuket campus), will join the growing trend toward offering fully accredited university issued TEFL training in Thailand. Now, prospective teachers who have been looking for university teacher-training courses have choices in three different areas of the country to select from.

For those in the far North East, the Khon Kaen University campus is a great place to explore the more rural side of Thailand while getting your university TEFL/TESOL certification. For those who prefer the beach and the excitement of Phuket, there is now the Prince of Songkla University TEFL/TESOL course.
