Text and Talk Academy

Don't forget that Text and Talk Academy has a training center in Khon Kaen if you fancy doing your TEFL course somewhere a bit different to the usual offerings of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc. All the information you need is on the Text and Talk website. There is still time to book a place on the March course in Bangkok, which runs from the 25th March to the 12th April and then picks up again from 22nd April to 9th May. This isn't a bad time to be finishing a course in all honesty because you'll have graduated in time to start the new school term.

TEFL Plus Phuket

If you would like to get a glimpse of what it's like to take your TEFL course at TEFL Plus then in this video, Li takes you on a guided tour of the training center in the popular Patong Beach area of Phuket. If you're considering taking your TEFL course in 2013, don't forget to register for TEFLPlus' lucky draw. Four winners will win free hotel accommodation with its four-week advanced TEFL course in Patong Beach, Phuket in 2013. All you have to do is download your free copy of the Surviving Thailand Guide from the TEFL Plus website. The last day to enter the draw is March 31, 2013, so register today and get your name in early. You could win free accommodation with your advanced TEFL course!

Entrust TEFL Thailand

Entrust TEFL provide resort accommodation, white-water rafting, elephant trekking, a Thai cultural immersion program and Thai bank accounts as part of their TEFL package. Plus a seat on the training program of course, where the teaching practice component takes place with real Thai students of English. You can get a taste for what teachers are doing on the Entrust program by checking out the videos and pics on Facebook. Because April is Songkhran month in Thailand, Entrust will be providing teachers with free water guns and a barbecue party to get you all in the spirit of things. Once the training course is over, Entrust has a guaranteed job placement program. Remember the new school term starts around May so you'll be getting in at just the right time. All the info you need is on the Entrust website.

YES TESOL Thailand

The next YES TESOL Thailand course runs from 22nd April to 21st May but they advise applicants to arrive in Thailand early enough to experience the amazing Songkran festival in Bangkok. Get out there and get soaked to the skin before getting the opportunity to meet up with your course instructor. YES TESOL promise to take care of your transportation from Bangkok Airport and they will also organise on-site accommodation. And if you're the healthy, sporty type, then you'll also have full access to a swimming pool, gym and basketball court, located at the Youth Exchange School, where incidentally the observed teaching practice is carried out. There will also be plenty of time to get acquainted with YES teachers at the school. It certainly sounds like a friendly place! Visit the YES website for more details and special offers.

SEE TEFL Chiang Mai

SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai have been passing some milestones of late. They have now received over 10,000 views of their YouTube video, which shows a range of teachers going through their observed teaching practice in local Thai schools. They've also had over 4,000 Facebook 'likes' (I wish ajarn.com's Facebook page could get that many) Over the past six years, SEE TEFL has trained 539 teachers and you can see every one of them - yes every single one - in the SEE TEFL Flickr photo albums. The March course unfortunately is now full. There a few places left on the April / May course but still plenty of room if you want to join up for courses after May.

Chiang Mai University TEFL

When you take your TEFL course at Chiang Mai University, it's worth remembering that you get access to all the university facilities and that includes the swimming pool! Although the first three courses for 2013 are/were full, there are still places for the course starting on May 6th. Don't forget either that many teachers go into employment as university teachers at CMU once their TEFL course has finished. Who knows? that could be you working at Chiang Mai University next semester. The CMU course also offers a one-day Thai language and culture course and a first-aid course at the faculty of nursing. You can see some videos for yourself on the CMU YouTube channel.

American TESOL Institute

For 2013 along with its regular TESOL course and guaranteed job projects, American TESOL Institute has launched a one-week specialized teaching practice course for teachers with qualifications but no teaching experience. The course will include classroom management skills pertaining to Thailand and teaching different lessons across different age groups in actual Thai schools. ATI's second offering in the New Year is a blended hybrid course comprising both online study and in-class training for freshers

Samui TEFL

Samui TEFL is offering places on their two courses starting in April and May for 30,000 baht. You must mention that you saw the offer on ajarn.com when you fill in the on-line application form. There has been a new addition to the team at Samui TEFL with Kathryn Webb joining the company as a business partner. Kathryn has a degree in psychology (good for some pointers on classroom management!) and also a DELTA (Diploma of English Language Training to Adults) as well as CELTYL, (Certificate of English Language Training to Young Learners) so she is qualified for teaching both adults and children. Kathryn owned her own English language school in Italy for eight years, before selling up to relocate to the gorgeous tropical island of Samui (sounds like a fair exchange to me) Kathryn's company, Language Studios, trained teachers, placing them in contracts with some of Italy's top companies as well as running courses for both adults and children. At Language Studios. Kathryn believes in a making classes fun, and has some brilliant ideas to share with the trainee TEFL teachers. She'll be conducting the Samui TEFL course from March 2013, and naturally many folks are excited to welcome Kathryn aboard! Visit the Samui TEFL website for more information and course dates, etc.

UniTEFL Chiang Mai

UniTeFL up in Chiang Mai has a few places left on their April course beginning on March 29th. There is a week's break in the middle of the course for everyone to go out and enjoy the Songkran festival (and it's always celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chiang Mai) If you enroll now, you'll get free accommodation for the duration of the course, worth up to $250. Rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis. All rooms have modern amenities and access to a swimming pool. For more details contact UniTEFL.

Ontesol

Ontesol is offering a free TEYL course (teach English to young learners) if you register to take their 250-hour TESOL diploma program. The offer is valid from March 4th to March 25th. Check out the OnTESOL website for more details about what's included in the 250-hour program. Looking at the website, the minimum time you have to complete the course is two months - and the maximum is eight months. So it's certainly a course you can do as and when time allows.

AYC

What's happening at AYC, TEFL course provider and one of the largest teacher recruiters in Thailand? Well, they have cut the prices of their 120-hour on-site Bangkok TESOL Course to 799 USD for the regular course and 999 USD with private accommodation (a studio apartment) AYC offers internationally recognized certification from INTESOL USA and NCFE UK and one of the aims of the course is to create a source of qualified and prepared teachers for the AYC English program in Thailand. A large number of teachers have already gained work through this channel. For more information, you can contact KD on 0892 357 356 or send an e-mail

Chichester College

Steve, from the popular Chichester College TESOL Course in Bangkok, has written an excellent blog entry entitled, "How much Thai do I need to be able to speak?". This is the question on everyones lips when they first consider teaching English in Thailand and Steve's ever-friendly writing tone makes this piece a pleasure to read.

LCC

The Language Centre of Chantaburi runs a TEFL course for US $669 and the package also comes with free accommodation. LCC has set aside an apartment building approximately fifteen minutes walk from the training center. You'll have your own apartment with bathroom, wi-fi connection, air-conditioning and there is also a laundry on-site.

Green TEFL Chiang Mai

Nava School of English is one of the biggest teacher recuiters in the Chiang Mai area, with over 20 schools on its books. Nava recruits teachers directly from the Green TEFL program and there are already a number of job openings for the new school term in May. Take the Green TEFL course in April and come May, you're almost assured of a teaching job in the Chiang Mai area. Green TEFL offers its students a one-year ED visa, job assistance, practical teaching experience and also free transportation to and from the school. As a special deal, they are offering an early bird discount if you book your TEFL course between March and May.
