All the latest news from Thailand's TEFL course programs

SEE TEFL Chiang Mai - SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai has been teaching a full-time 120-hour course for over nine years and can boast over 800 graduates. In addition to this very popular 4-week certification program, they now offer a teacher training and paid internship opportunity twice a year to coincide with the two school semesters in Thailand.

The SEE TEFL internship program is a great way to experience Thailand as a paid teacher, but also ideal for those who aren't ready to commit to a 4-week TEFL course program or a teaching commitment longer than five months. Internship includes pre-arrival classroom familiarization training, two weeks face-to-face classroom skills and cultural awareness induction training in Chiang Mai. Then a paid one-semester teaching job of four to five months in a rural or provincial Thai school. Interns are paid a minimum of 25,000 baht a month. More information here

SEE TEFL is also licensed by The Thailand Ministry of Education, which means they can help you with a non-immigrant visa. They have a webpage dedicated to all your visa options and how they can help you in each case. Well worth a look.

TEFL Campus Phuket - TEFL Campus is currently running a summer special. Enroll in their August program and receive 30% off course fees. You'll also receive a free on-line certification course worth US$250.

While June, July and August represent Phuket's low season for tourism, it's high season for TEFL employment at the island's language centers and at universities across Thailand. This means the odds of finding a job after the course are rather high.

TEFL Campus has been operating in Phuket Town since 2002. Their TEFL certification is validated by Fort Hays State University and the center itself is licensed by Thailand's Ministry of Education. They offer meaningful assistance with employment, visas and accommodation. Contact TEFL Campus for more details.

TEFLPlus Phuket - What do TEFLplus' trainees think? David just completed his 4-week advanced TEFL course and you can see his video review on YouTube.

If you would like to get an insider tour of the TEFLPlus facility, take a look at this video as Li takes you on a guided tour of the training center at Patong Language School. Patong Language School has been granted a licence to operate in Phuket and has been one of the island's leading language schools for over 30 years. Their training center is just two minutes from the beach and Patong is a good location to combine training with a holiday.

Chiang Mai University TEFL - CMUTEFL now also includes a professional development workshop which offers job assistance and CV/Resume writing review session to those looking for employment in northern Thailand. Don't forget also that graduates from the program get first priority on new jobs being offered at Chiang Mai University.

In September, Chiang Mai University TEFL was appointed a teacher training centre for universities in China and recently completed a training program for 15 teachers from Chengdu University with more to follow in 2015. As always, don't forget to check out their latest photos from their facebook page and videos on youtube.

UniTEFL Chiang Mai - UniTEFL is looking for 30 teachers for the November semester and the recruiter is willing to subsidise most of the cost of the training for the ‘right' kind of candidate. Native speaking applicants under 45, with a degree who are accepted will have their TEFL course paid for them, so that all they pay is $600 towards accommodation and administration.

These are well-paid jobs in the provinces with a total remuneration package of $1,000 a month, with everything taken care of for you from point of airport arrival. You can learn more about the Training and Placement (TAP) program here

In addition, there has been a great deal of interest in the Certificate in Professional Teaching (CPT) from New Era University, a teaching diploma awarded by CHED (Higher Education Department in the Philippines) and therefore recognised by Khurusapa. This is in fact the first year of the MA in Education, an affordable such program available to Thailand teachers.

A dozen students are presently enrolled, and the first of them will gain their permanent teacher's licence in November when they graduate. Some students have been given temporary licence extensions while studying. UniTEFL is the sole administrator in Thailand for this program. A similar program through Philippine Women's University has now been discontinued.

Chichester College - Steve, from the popular Chichester College TESOL Course in Bangkok, has written an excellent blog entry entitled, "How much Thai do I need to be able to speak?". This is the question on everyones lips when they first consider teaching English in Thailand and Steve's ever-friendly writing tone makes this piece a pleasure to read.

Global TESOL Thailand - Take the 5-day Global TESOL course and you can study in Phuket or Bangkok and take advantage of special student room rates. Course students can also take ‘add on' specialized courses with flexible study options. Global TESOL also offer an employment workshop and cultural induction program as well as payment plans to suit different budgets. Students arriving from overseas can pay a course deposit and take advantage of airport pick-up and accommodation support service. Students already living in Thailand can claim travel reimbursement. Check out the Global TESOL Thailand website to get more info on a course that has trained over 50,000 graduates worldwide.

The Language Centre of Chanthaburi - LCC offer to meet you at the airport in Bangkok and then take you by a private car direct to their centre and to your housing in Chanthaburi - all for free! You just have to apply and pay the first down payment before October 31st 2015. In addition, if you enrol on the course with another person, you will get the course for $899 instead of the regular price of $999 - so it's a saving of $200 for two people. Visit the LCC website.
