 SEE TEFL Chiang Mai

SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai have been teaching a full-time 120-hour course for seven years and can boast over 600 graduates. They now offer a teacher training and paid internship opportunity twice a year to coincide with the two school semesters in Thailand. The next internship training date is 30th September to 11th October 2013. The SEE TEFL internship program is a great way to experience Thailand as a paid teacher, but also ideal for those who aren't ready to commit to a 4-week TEFL course program or a teaching committment longer than five months. Internship includes pre-arrival classroom familiarization training, two weeks face-to-face classroom skills and cultural awareness induction training in Chiang Mai. Then a paid one-semester teaching job of four to five months in a rural or provincial Thai school. Interns are paid a minimum of 25,000 baht a month. More information here.  


Island TEFL

Island TEFL is offering Ajarn readers the opportunity to enroll on any of its internationally accredited 120-hour courses at Koh Samui, Phuket or Bangkok for just $595 U.S. (17,900 Baht). Alternatively, you can sign up for their online 120-hour certification program for $225 (6,900 Baht) Island TEFL also offers a hybrid course where you study online followed by four days of practical experience. They offer a 150-hour TEFL/TESOL diploma certificate (Island TEFL's equivalent of the CELTA). Island TEFL also offers guaranteed job placement to course graduates and also for teachers off other TEFL course programs. Island TEFL also has a demand for 300 teachers in Thailand. The positions pay 36,000 baht a month (depending on experience) and furnished accommodation is included. Teachers interested in these positions will have to attend a week long 'meet and greet' and teacher development and cultural immersion program at a beach resort hotel in Pattaya from 22-27th October or in early May. TEFLPlus Phuket

We like a lucky draw on the ajarn TEFL course news blog and TEFLPlus had its second lucky draw recently. Chiang Mai University TEFL

There are only a handful of places left on The Chiang Mai University TEFL course starting in September so you're advised to apply asap. There are also still a few places left on the August 5th program as well. Both the August and September programs come with a guaranteed job placement - 25,000 baht a month for a four-month contract. Visas and work permits are provided. Chiang Mai University itself is looking for part-time teachers and graduates from the TEFL course always get first priority. In October, CMUTEFL will be starting a part-time Teacher Diploma Course with a one-year education visa. Kent and TEFL England

TEFL England, a very well-known TEFL course provider from the UK, are now in Thailand! Courses are being run by The Kent School of Languages in Bangkok. And to celebrate the opening, Kent School of Languages have a very nice introductory price of 27,000 baht for the course starting on the 8th of July. Sign up and you will also have access to their TEFL job center. The school is very conveniently located, just a few minutes walk from a skytrain station in the bustling Lower Sukhumwit Road area. Samui TEFL

Samui TEFL is now re-running their promotional price of 35,000 baht. This price excludes accommodation, but includes all resources as well as a teacher's bag containing tools and stationery, a welcome lunch, and also airport collection. Courses are limited to small groups and conducted by Kathryn Webb - a trainer with over 20 years experience. The feedback on the new location - just 300 metres to one of Samui's great beaches - has been fantastic, with students making full use of the pool and sala at lunch-time too. Samui TEFL also has a large database of schools and agents, not only in Thailand but in China too, and assist trainees in compiling their CVs and job hunting. UniTEFL Chiang Mai

American TESOL Institute

For 2013 along with its regular TESOL course and guaranteed job projects, American TESOL Institute has launched a one-week specialized teaching practice course for teachers with qualifications but no teaching experience. The course will include classroom management skills pertaining to Thailand and teaching different lessons across different age groups in actual Thai schools. ATI's second offering in the New Year is a blended hybrid course comprising both online study and in-class training for freshers


AYC

What's happening at AYC, TEFL course provider and one of the largest teacher recruiters in Thailand? Well, they have cut the prices of their 120-hour on-site Bangkok TESOL Course to 799 USD for the regular course and 999 USD with private accommodation (a studio apartment) AYC offers internationally recognized certification from INTESOL USA and NCFE UK and one of the aims of the course is to create a source of qualified and prepared teachers for the AYC English program in Thailand. Green TEFL Chiang Mai

Green TEFL in Chiang Mai is offering a very attractive half-price discount from the usual course price of 45,000 baht. Until September 30th you can take the course for just 22,500 baht and it includes a one-year visa, the 120-hour TEFL course and all the materials and resources to use on your course, including a resource bag of t-shirts, pens, etc. As well as ten hours of observed teaching practice in Thai schools, Green TEFL also offers an employment help service in collaboration with NAVA schools to help you start work in Thailand. Visions TEFL

Visions TEFL have just been granted their Thai Language Communication course licence by the MOE and are going to be integrating it into their TEFL Course. This means that every applicant going through the TEFL course starting next month, will also be taking 30 hours of Thai language course study and get a separate certificate for that. Visions TEFL are also launching more weekend excursions and activities including elephant trekking plus ATV rides. Visions TEFL are located down in Hat Yai - a bustling Thai city with a real international atmosphere. So that's certainly something different in terms of location.
