It's time to get yourself on a good Thailand TEFL course

SEE TEFL Chiang Mai - SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai has been teaching a full-time 120-hour course for over ten years and can boast over 1000 graduates. In addition to this very popular 4-week certification program, they now offer a teacher training and paid internship opportunity twice a year to coincide with the two school semesters in Thailand.

The SEE TEFL internship program is a great way to experience Thailand as a paid teacher, but also ideal for those who aren't ready to commit to a 4-week TEFL course program or a teaching commitment longer than five months. Internship includes pre-arrival classroom familiarization training, two weeks face-to-face classroom skills and cultural awareness induction training in Chiang Mai. Then a paid one-semester teaching job of four to five months in a rural or provincial Thai school. Interns are paid a minimum of 25,000 baht a month. More information here

SEE TEFL is also licensed by The Thailand Ministry of Education, which means they can help you with a non-immigrant visa. They have a webpage dedicated to all your visa options and how they can help you in each case. Well worth a look.

TEFL Campus Phuket - TEFL Campus is currently offering a US$ 200 discount for their course starting on March 14th. The special offer is exclusive to Ajarn.com readers (mention us in your application) and will expire on 31st January 2015. Graduates also receive a free online course on teaching young learners or business English.

While training in Phuket Town, you'll learn about what it takes to effectively teach in the classroom. If you're interested in reading their tips for improving teaching skills in 2016, you can check out TEFL Campus' latest blog entry: 2016 Resolutions.

TEFL Campus has been operating in Phuket Town since 2002. Their TEFL certification is validated by Fort Hays State University and the center itself is licensed by Thailand's Ministry of Education. They offer meaningful assistance with employment, visas and accommodation. Contact TEFL Campus for more details.

Chichester College - One of the unique benefits of the Chichester College TESOL / TEFL course are the excursions they arrange to local schools during the course.

The excursions (essentially field trips) give trainees the opportunity to see real teaching situations in progress from the sidelines. Chichester graduates often comment on the usefulness of this as it helps them to overcome the fear of standing in front of their first group of students during the teaching practice which comes later in the course.

In a recent blog entry by Steve (the principal trainer) wrote: "In the 2-3 years that we've been running excursions as part of the TESOL course, I've seen a noticeable increase in the level of confidence of our graduates upon completion of the course. The prospect of entering that dreaded "first classroom" is no longer a worry since everyone has already shared in the experience together and drawn strength from each other. We're glad we made this important addition to the course!"

UEC TEFL Thai  - UEC TEFL Thai offers a 120-hour training course in Central Bangkok and are committed to empowering trainees to become competent and enthusiastic teachers in an international training environment. Check out the current list of course dates. They also offer up to a 10% discount for student cardholders.

Courses are licensed by The Thai Ministry of Education and teaching practice is done with 'less fortunate' Thai students (which is a nice touch). UEC Thai TEFL also assists trainees in finding accommodation and employment and offers as much support as needed. Why not read what recent graduates have said about the course.

One of UEC TEFL's recent grads has also written a very nice article about their experience teaching in a government school in Ratchaburi.

Note that UEC are now offering a 10% discount on their February course for anyone who signs up in January and mentions the ajarn dot com website.

If you are in Bangkok, you are very welcome to drop by the UEC TEFL Thai office, chat with current trainees and even sit in on a lesson. Telephone or send an e-mail for more information.

Chiang Mai University TEFL - Chiang Mai University TEFL are now offering a TEFL plus Thai Language Combo package which offers a full 1-year Education visa in Thailand.

CMUTEFL is also rolling out its Guaranteed Job Referral Scheme for all its graduates to one of their many recruitment partners. Finally, CMUTEFL is running its TED (Teacher Employment Discount) campaign for all applicants who are currently employed as a teacher or those who have been offered a contract to start teaching in a foreign country. To be eligible, applicant must show proof of employment upon enrolment to qualify for a 20% discount off the program fees (saving of $280 USD)

UniTEFL Chiang Mai - UniTEFL are still accepting applications for the April intake of their TAP program (deadline Feb 28th). This is quite a unique opportunity, since the training is actually paid for by the employers if you are selected for their job placement on a one year contract.

The salaries are competitive and you only pay for the accommodation and orientation during the 4 weeks getting TEFL certified in Chiang Mai.

They continue to run monthly courses in Chiang Mai, with accommodation arranged and weekend excursions to elephant camps, city tours etc. Courses are internationally accredited by the Fort Hays post graduate TESOL Masters Program in the US. Learn more about the training and placement program.

TEFLPlus Phuket - What do TEFLplus' trainees think of the course? David just completed his 4-week advanced TEFL course and you can see his video review on YouTube.

If you would like to get an insider tour of the TEFLPlus facility, take a look at this video as Li takes you on a guided tour of the training center at Patong Language School. Patong Language School has been granted a licence to operate in Phuket and has been one of the island's leading language schools for over 30 years. Their training center is just two minutes from the beach and Patong is a good location to combine training with a holiday.
