News, promotions, deals and more from Thailand's leading training providers

SEE TEFL Chiang Mai - SEE TEFL up in Chiang Mai has been teaching a full-time 120-hour TEFL course for over ten years, and can boast over 1,000 graduates. In addition to this popular 4-week certification program, they now offer paid teaching internships with teacher training twice a year to coincide with the two school semesters in Thailand. Both the 4-week TEFL and the Paid Internship (which includes 2 weeks of training and 15 days of accommodation) cost $1,295 with early bird specials.

The SEE TEFL 4-week course is comprehensive and includes grammar review, lesson planning, 6 observed teaching practices in a variety of schools with real students, cultural awareness training, classroom management, survival Thai language lessons, and job seeking advice. They offer visa support and they have a webpage dedicated to all your visa options and how they can help in each case. Well worth a look.

In April, 2016 SEE TEFL moved into a new, modern, purpose-built school just a short distance from their previous location. SEE TEFL has a job guarantee, and most TEFL grads find work within a few weeks. SEE TEFL is licensed by the Thailand Ministry of Education, has achieved ISO 9001 quality certification, and is a TQUK approved training centre.  There are some great photos here of the new school opening cermony and you can take a tour of the school in this video.

An online grammar terminology and teaching process review is now included with all 4-week TEFL courses (at the request of trainees). Grammar will still be reviewed in their course, in a standard classroom setting. However, an introductory refresh of grammar terminology, as well as a video overview of the teaching process, will help with preparation for the course. The grammar terminology and teaching process review is emailed to trainees approximately 4 weeks before the start of their on-site training course.

Vantage TEFL certification - Vantage TEFL Certification offers an American accredited 120 hour in-class course with 6 hours of observed teacher practice. Their in-class certificates are validated in the USA and graduates can earn three college credits from their course. They also offer a 120-hour Combined Course, which blends online study with live classroom teaching.

Vantage does its observed teaching practice at Boromrajonani College of Nursing Bangkok, Thailand's oldest and largest nursing training institute. Vantage is also a Cambridge English Authorized Test Centre. As such, their TEFL course will also include basic assessment methods as they advocate that testing is one of the essential skills good teachers should know.

Vantage is currently providing the proficiency assessment for the major 2016-17 English Research Project with a major Thai university, which will examine Thai teacher training and curriculum development for all of Thailand's secondary schools. This project is under the supervision of Thailand's Office of the Higher Education Commission of the Ministry of Education.

Vantage's TEFL Certification program combines the skill set to be an effective teacher, fully prepared for 'tomorrow's technology'. They also provide valuable resume and interview coaching and job placement assistance in public schools, universities and private institutions.

Vantage has some attractive deals on offer. When you take a full 120-hour TEFL course, you can receive a free specialist online course. You can choose either the Certification in Teaching Business English or the Certification in Teaching English to Young Learners.

Chichester College TESOL - This month marks the 16th anniversary of the Chichester College TESOL / TEFL course being run in Bangkok. How time flies! It seems like just yesterday when the first courses were advertised on ajarn.com as far back as January 2001!

The course dates page now lists courses running up to March 2018 and early-booking discounts of up to US$200 are available for people booking in advance as well as an offer of free accommodation for couples enrolling together.
