The worst type of foreigner

Why bash other people's lifestyles and situations?

I live in a closet with no air-con and a fan. I live off of a diet of air, water and noodles. Sure, I can't afford to travel, save for retirement, get my own place and I haven't seen my family for years because I can't afford a ticket to go home and visit them, but I am living the Thai lifestyle man!

Don't come to Thailand if this makes you mad

You've got to roll with the punches

Things are very spur of the moment in South East Asia. You hardly ever hear about things until the last possible second. There is nothing you can do about it.

Online teaching saved my life

What would I have done without it?

How having more than one source of income, in this case an online tutoring job, saved my ass during cancer treatment.

Take the first job you can get

It's all about getting a foot in the door

There are "Teachers in Thailand" rooms that I belong to that say don't settle for anything less than 40K when it comes to a teaching job, and although I do agree with them, that's easier said than done.

Go with the flow

Don't come to Thailand if this kind of stuff makes you mad

As westerners, we like to have schedules and we like to know things ahead of time. Stuff like that doesn't happen so much in Asian culture.

Teacher probationary periods

What schools don’t tell you when a teacher is hired

A probationary period is the chance for both schools and teachers to evaluate each other.
