Nana Plaza ( Thanks to Stickman ) Nana Entertainment Plaza, located on Sukumvit Soi 4, opposite the Nana Hotel is the choice of many expats as both the place to meet friends for a quiet drink and a place to meet girls for hot times. Commonly referred to as NEP, there are more than 30 bars in this three story sex shopping centre that range from open air beer bars to go-go bars to a even a short time hotel. Nana Plaza has become very popular in the last few years and many now consider it the place to meet the most attractive working girls in Bangkok. The quality of the girls in the bars bars goes up and down so in a few months time, any recommended bars may no longer be the best ones. So how much money do the girls at Nana Plaza want? Like everywhere it varies from girl to girl but usually they want about 1,000-1,500 baht for short-time and 2,000-3,000 baht for long time. You can easily negotiate the price down with most of the girls and should never pay more than 1,000 baht for short time. Long time can be had with some girls for 1,000 but it should be noted that many girls will simply not go with you long time. Others will insist on, and in fact have no trouble getting 3,000 baht from free spending Japanese and American tourists. Many girls will go with one guy and then come back for another round. Like many other places, the best looking girls do not have to drop their price because if you do not go with her, the next guy will. Others do not like to go back to the apartment/hotel of someone who they do not know so you are forced to go to a short time hotel, usually costing around 300-500 baht to use the hotel's facilities. When in a gogo bar, there are different categories of women. These include the gogo girls themselves, the hello girls and the waitresses. The hello girls stand outside and try to entice you inside. The waitresses obviously serve you drinks etc. Waitresses are usually available but often the bar fine is more expensive than for a gogo girl and they may want a premium price for sex. Hello girls are sometimes up for it, sometimes not. However, if you see someone that you really want, remember that 'every girl has her price'. - Just don't go paying exorbitant amounts. Directly across the road from NEP is the Nana Hotel. This very popular sex tourist hotel has a beer bar on the ground floor that opens out onto the road and the infamous Angel Disco on the ground floor. The beer bar is a nice place to sit and watch the world go by - or more specifically, the customers coming and going from NEP. Angel's or as it is more commonly referred, Nana Disco, is located inside the Nana Hotel. This is another after hours joint, not dis-similar from the Thermae. Frequented by freelancers and the girls from NEP, Nana Disco doesn't usually get busy until after 1:00am, and peaks at around 3:30am. Here you can meet all the young lovelies from the bars in NEP who didn't get a customer or those who want another customer for the night! It's an expensive place to drink with drinks running at around 100 baht each and the staff can be a bit pushy. Although it doesn't seem to get going until about 2:00 am, it can be a really good place to meet up with a freelancer who isn't a hardcore out every night kind of girl. Nana Plaza doesn't yet suffer from all of the tourist associated bullshit that plagues Patpong - but how long will this last? With the tourist high season stretching out a little further each year, expect to see more and more tourists visiting the plaza. Pros: Attractive girls who are not as pushy as those at Patpong. Gogo bars, beer bars, massage parlours and a short-time hotel all in one convenient location. Cons: Girls aren’t cheap and bar fines aren't cheap at around 500 baht. It's getting busier and busier.
