Here are some phrases that you might find useful should you wish to make new friends in one of Bangkok's
myriad of 'interesting' bars and nightspots. The more of these phrases you can commit to memory the lesser your chances of being ripped off in a bar. It’s always good to pretend you understand, even if you don’t - unless of course you’re trying to plead ignorance of the law, in which case keep your head still and don’t nod everytime the nice policeman says something.
If you do, you’ve probably just confessed to being the mastermind behind an international baby smuggling ring and not, as you thought, successfully getting the bar owner to refund your money after overcharging you for a beer.
