Tongue Thai'd ~ Lesson 1
Upon arrival in Thailand, the first thing you will notice about the Thai language, apart from not being able to understand a word of it, is the amount of times you hear the words ' Kap ' and 'Kaa'. You’ll also notice that males say ' Kap ', Females say ' Kaa '.
These are used to make sentences sound more polite, similar to using please in English - only that ' Kap ' and ' Kaa ' are used all the time not only for requests. There's no strict rule about when you should use these words. The best thing to do is just make ' Kap ' or ' Kaa ' the last word you say in a sentence - don't worry about saying it too often.
