Rajabhat Institutes

There are 36 of these government vacational ( oops!  - vocational) colleges dotted around Thailand. 6 are in BKK and 30 upcountry.   They attract friendly, poorer  students and mainly teach arts subjects.

Don't expect to meet too many rocket scientists if you teach at a Rajabhat but if you're looking for a job out of BKK then they're a good place to start.  They have an annual budget for around 70 foreign teachers - mainly for English language but also French, Japanese and Chinese.  Pay is the standard government rate of 17,580 Baht/month plus 8,000 baht/month housing allowance  -if no accommodation is provided.
