Stamford now run a language school as part of a mainstream school institute and employ well over 20 full time teachers in addition to a few part time teachers. Fulltime teachers are required to have a degree or recognised TEFL
certificate. They are expected to teach 80 -100 contract hours per
month. In return the teacher receives a salary of just under 30,000 Baht /
month, 4 weeks paid holiday per year and medical insurance. A Work Permit
is also provided.
Stamford College is an old British Colonial School that was originally established in Singapore in 1950. Here in the south of Thailand we have a Language school which is responsible for teaching some of the English program in our Bilingual School, our Technical and Commerce School, our Primary School and our International Business School. Our Language school also runs it's own courses for students who are not in our mainstream school program. We are just being authorized as a Cambridge testing center, so our staff have the opportunity to become registered Oral testers for this.
