Nava Language schools were established in 1998 and at present have several schools in
Bangkok and another 4 in other areas of Thailand. They employ between 60
and 80 full time native speakers as full time teachers and 10-20 handfull as
part-time teachers.
Full time &
part time teaching staff should ideally have a
Bachelors degree, RSA/Trinity College certificate and previous teaching
experience. In return for teaching 80 -100 hours per month Nava will
provide full time teachers with a salary of 26 - 30,000 Baht / month. Benefits include a work
permit and visa ( free of charge to the teacher ) and medical insurance, 26 days paid holidays,
end-of-contract bonus and an end-of-contract airfare allowance (15,000
Baht).
Part time teachers are paid 300 - 350 Baht/hour
for inside work and 350-400 Baht/hour for outside work. This doesn't include a bonus - paid upon
the successful completion of a course of 30 Baht / hour for inside teaching and
100 - 150 Baht/hour for outside work.
NAVA Language Schools have gone through a phase change since December 1999. With the arrival of the new DOS, the entire curriculum has been revised and rewritten. Course specifications, new teaching materials, assessment tools and a complete program evaluation system have been created. The goal of educational quality is now at the forefront of NAVA's policy and planning.
Tuition fees have gone up as has the number of students both in-house and outside. NAVA Language Schools will continue to grow and to attract professionally oriented teachers because of the calibre of its programmes and teaching.
With a fully specified syllabus, on-going teacher training and curriculum development, NAVA provides more teacher support than any other school in the country.
